Another letter sent by one of our members.
Dear Senator,
Social Security began in 1935. It is mandatory, we can't opt out. (payroll tax collections will begin to exceed benefits paid in 2016 and it will go bankrupt by 2040 or sooner)
Medicare starts in 1965. Our seniors are now dependant on it. AARP gladly fills in the gaps with their insurance plan (No conflict of interest there? Anyone wonder why they are so tickled to support a bill that will cut Medicare Advantage benefits by $500 BILLION?)
Americans were promised Medicare would cost 12 billion by 1990 - it was 90 billion. It is now $468 billion.
Now we are handed a 1.2 trillion dollar (we all know it will be more) Health-care bill that unconstitutionally forces us to buy insurance or face fines and jail-time. Yet, Insurance companies are still not allowed to compete across state lines, and there is NO tort-reform. It appears to me that you don't really want insurance companies to compete and bring costs down or even to survive. It appears to me that the Progressive liberals in this nation want them to fail so we can have a single-payer system in this country. I get it. But this is not what we want.
This is not what Americans want, even if it is what YOU want. You are there to represent us. Remember?
I am asking that you would give us a bill that allows "across state lines" competition, tort reform, lower premiums, and guarantee affordable insurance even with pre-existing conditions.
Please do not allow another 111 federal agencies to be formed because of a government, public option.
Please do NOT force us to buy health insurance or be fined or jailed.
Please do not hand us another big-government-run, money-sucking, personally invasive, inefficient department in the name of helping those who need insurance.
Please let the President find his "legacy" some other way, besides giving us a bill that most college graduates cannot understand, and few representatives can even read.
Thankyou, Debbie K.

This is a letter sent by one of our members to all the dems up for re-election plus Snowe and Collins.
I do not believe you arrived in Washington for the considerable salary and benefits you now earn; rather, I believe you arrived because you believed you could do good for those you represent and for the United States. However, Washington certainly must be a seductive place! You know that.
The "Health Care" bill upon which you will vote is demonstrably bad. It is clearly an attempt by certain members of the federal government to gain control over the medical decisions of everyone in the United States. You know that.
This bill has been negotiated and drafted in secret and not in the clear light of day. One party has done this with little/no consultation even with their own colleagues. Most citizens know this and are resentful of the arrogance of our elected representatives that these actions clearly demonstrate. You know that.
We citizens of the United States were promised that we could read the bills before they came up for a vote and that has been denied us and, I imagine, most of you as well. This is not a responsible way to conduct the significant affairs of the United States. You know that.
While a few want to hand over their medical decisions to Uncle Sam, and others want someone else to pay for them, a clear majority of the citizenry are opposed in one way or another to this deplorable attempt to dictate their medical care. You know that.
In the coming weeks those who are driving this process will offer "sweeteners" to those who have yet to make a decision. You know that. Will you be one of those who will try to get a "sweetener" to take home so you can be re-elected? If you are, please remember this: the rest of the country will pay for whatever you get for your constituency. You know that.
The bill that will be voted on isn't 90% good and10% bad… not 80/20 nor even 60/40, though it very well may be 40/60 in the opposite direction. You know that.
If you are worried about being re-elected, consider this: With only perhaps three state exceptions, you will be punishing the majority of your constituents by reducing their options, increasing their taxes, and expediting their rationed care. Should they not pay for medical insurance, they will be fined and jailed. Is this what you really want? Is this type of deceit what your party is demanding of you?
There are but a few who need not worry about their re-election. You can vote for this abomination and worry about being re-elected. Or you can stand up and speak. You can stand up and say: "We need health care reform, but this is not it! We must do this in the open, in the light of day! We must return to what we came to Washington to do: stand up for all the people, start over and do what we need to with help from all!"
Which course has a better chance of getting you re-elected and continuing the $175,000 plus benefits? You know the answer.

This is a letter that my Daughter Linda sent it to Obama last night.
I thought you may like to see it.
President Barack Obama

Dear President Obama,
I am a 26 year old Master's graduate from Fielding Graduate Institute with a Bachelor's degree in Communication and Minor in Psychology who had high hopes about attaining a life changing goal. However, since your inauguration, I have been laid off my job as a Client Service Specialist/Underwriter for a Financial Consulting firm and forced to move back into my mother's home and work 16+ hours a day between two jobs that I am over qualified for. I should not have bags and dark circles under my eyes at the young age of 26. Under the Bush administration, I always had a job and was never forced to seek positions that were under my standards and qualifications. I spent two years of schooling to attain a Masters degree and now ending up working two jobs that I could have done as a high school graduate.
Being a Father as you are, I know you have high hopes for your daughters as my Mother had but yet your children are getting the best treatment at such a young age- something my Mother wasn't able to do to it's highest degree. How do you feel that will affect their future? I hope you remain humble and teach them the facts of life and not spoil them and give them thoughts of a "perfect" life as no teenager or college student or even graduate student can grasp. Flying them all over the world is a wonderful experience but yet at the American working class costs. I'd love to explore the world but even with a higher education, I have to work 16-18 hour days to make ends meet. But you go ahead and take them shopping in Paris! If you continue to give them these elaborate excursions, they will only expect more. Please stop taking this presidency as a celebrity role and involving your children into believing this is a high for fame. This country is under extreme pressure and distress and the last thing is to hear that you or the First Lady is prancing around Paris shopping.
Regarding your past, why haven't the documents of your legal birth come to the surface? Why are you in such great personal contact with countries that we are in battle with? Why are you in such a hurry to sign a treaty that would give the world equal freedom? I agree with freedom as my Mother escaped Romania in the 70's from Communism and came to this country for a better life. However, since you've come into office, all I've seen is fear in her eyes that she would endear the same effects again that she dealt with 40 years ago. I am currently writing a book on her life called "In My Daughter's Eyes" that explains all that she went through to get to where she is today. Please don't take that away from her. That would be the next chapter or even book if things go the way you want.
Your so called "change" has definitely made an impact on this society from rich to poor. You wanted change, well you have it. I hope you can sleep at night knowing that among your celebrity appearances, Americans are struggling to survive thanks to many of your legislations and inhumane calls to our society. We used to be a democratic legislature and now it is turning into Socialism thanks to your efforts.
Freedom of speech is something that I never took for granted and yet I deserve the right for you to hear my voice. No, I am not a senator, a congress woman, a governor etc. However, EVERY voice should be heard. I'm tired of fearing for my future and my potential family and my current family under your litigation. I wish the best of luck to you as we as Americans come together. I'm currently involved with a nationwide reform to truly make the best "change" not the Obama "change." This is not meant to be a threatening letter by any means. It's just an awareness that even the "youngsters" are paying a significant attention to your actions.
Best regards,
Linda M. Cooper, M.A.
