Are you willing to spend time studying the issues, making yourself aware, and then conveying that information to family and friends? Will you resist the temptation to get a government handout for your community? Realize that the doctor's fight against socialized medicine is your fight. We can't socialize the doctors without socializing the patients. Recognize that government invasion of public power is eventually an assault upon your own business. If some among you fear taking a stand because you are afraid of reprisals from customers, clients, or even government, recognize that you are just feeding the crocodile hoping he'll eat you last.

                                                                           -- Ronald Reagan
A letter to Senator Nelson you can use regarding healthcare.

Please copy this and mail it to Senator Nelson. It is somewhat like a petition,
but the fact hat you put a stamp print  and mailed it yourself is more potent.
I encourage you to snowball it to all on your
e-mail lists., even if some  may get it more than once.
When you e-mail it out to that list leave this paragraph in tact.
Dear Senator Nelson
317 Hart Senate Office Building
Washington, D.C. 20510
Regarding congressional healthcare legislation - I'm totally fed up!  I'm not asking anymore, and I'm not begging anymore.  You know we can't afford this now, and you know the majority of people are opposed to it.  You and your colleagues have the power now to ignore your constituents and do whatever you want, and it looks like you probably will.  Elected US representatives favoring tyranny over democracy for the first time in American history, shame.  But I'm telling you and all your colleagues that if you vote for this bill, I will not only vote against your reelection, but I will work tirelessly to defeat you, and I will work for and support your opponent financially.

This 2,000 plus page bill and the action and conduct of this congress is an UNPRECEDENTED travesty.  Never in the history of America have we been represented by such a group of self-serving, freedom hating, nitwits and liars.  Only a moron would advocate adding this kind of expense to our broken bankrupt economy now.  Let's see how government will pay for this when our economy crashes.  Wake up!  But then apparently Democrats are not troubled by giving benefits and then taking them away after the people have come to rely on it, as you are doing now with Medicare.  People without means to increase their income at this stage of life are being threatened with runaway fees and reduced benefits,

In today's Bradenton Herald I read, "On January 1, 2010, Medicare patients in the state of Florida will face a new reality - increased difficulty in access to cardiovascular care.  The Obama administration 2010 Physician Fee Schedule severely cuts cardiovascular services, some by as much as 50%."  This from the man that claimed he would have more preventive medicine and save Billions and Billions of dollars through early treatment.  In particular outpatient imaging is targeted for big cuts, and this is one of the best tools for early diagnosis of heart disease  Many of the tests will now have to be done at hospitals at higher costs and higher out of pocket expense.  I guess those who can't pay the higher fees will just get worse and die. Thanks Democrats.  I thought you were not cutting Medicare.  And this isn't even the healthcare bill yet.  This is just a warm up.  I'm totally disgusted.  Can you see why?  Vote Democrat  and die before your time.  Like the ad on TV says - WE WON'T FORGET, EVER!

I do not wish to receive a patronizing response telling me how good this is going to be for me.  The American people are not stupid!
                                                                                                                                Respectfully

Sign, don't print - your name

Not even the great science fiction writer Ben Bova could come up with a theme for the greatest scientific hoax in history.  That's because Bova has always been a proponent of man-made global warming and has continually belittled the skeptics.  Too bad, because all the markings for a best selling thriller were there for the taking.

The AGW bubble has burst.  ClimateGate, as it has now been dubbed, is full of deceit, fraud, conspiracies, overstatements, understatements and downright dirty and dishonest politics.  Many have called it a "shameful dark day for science,"  and at least one leading figure in the scandal has stepped down.  Public hearings are scheduled which could lead to others getting a well deserved pink slip.

All this comes into play as President Obama travels to Copenhagen in an attempt to commit the United States to a climate change treaty costing taxpayers billions of dollars.  While Obama is expected to sign away American sovereignty with his signature,  any treaty must be ratified by the United States Senate.  It is imperative that all Americans, who value their individual freedoms and liberty,  call their Senators and say "NO" to this treaty which is pure political posturing for a one-world socialist government and complete control over our lives.

What a shame there were no Woodwards and Bernsteins to break this story.  Why?   Because the press was just as guilty in promoting fictitious global warming as the crooked scientists and politicians.

WOW!  WHAT A LETTER!

Letter from one 'Angry Woman' .  I don't know who wrote it but they should have signed it. Some powerful words. This woman should run for president.Written by a housewife from New Jersey. This is one ticked off lady.

'Are we fighting a war on terror or aren't we? Was it or was it not started by Islamic people who brought it to our shores on September 11, 2001?
Were people from all over the world, mostly Americans, not brutally murdered that day, in downtown Manhattan , across the Potomac from our nation's capitol and in a field inPennsylvania?

Did nearly three thousand men, women and children die a horrible, burning or crushing death that day, or didn't they?

And I'm supposed to care that a copy of the Koran was 'desecrated' when an overworked American soldier kicked it or got it wet?...Well, I don't. I don't care at all.

I'll start caring when Osama bin Laden turns himself in and repents for incinerating all those innocent people on 9/11.

I'll care about the Koran when the fanatics in the Middle East start caring about theHoly Bible, the mere possession of which is a crime in Saudi Arabia

I'll care when these thugs tell the world they are sorry for chopping off Nick Berg's head while Berg screamed through his gurgling slashed throat.

I'll care when the cowardly so-called 'insurgents' in Iraq come out and fight like men instead of disrespecting their own religion by hiding in mosques.

I'll care when the mindless zealots who blow themselves up in search of nirvana care about the innocent children within range of their suicide .

I'll care when the American media stops pretending that their First Amendment liberties are somehow derived from international law instead of the United States Constitution'sBill of Rights.

In the meantime, when I hear a story about a brave marine roughing up an Iraqi terrorist to obtain information, know this: I don't care.

When I see a fuzzy photo of a pile of naked Iraqi prisoners who have been humiliated in what amounts to a college-hazing incident, rest assured: I don't care.

When I see a wounded terrorist get shot in the head when he is told not to move because he might be booby-trapped, you can take it to the bank: I don't care.

When I hear that a prisoner, who was issued a Koran and a prayer mat, and fed 'special' food that is paid for by my tax dollars, is complaining that his holy book is being 'mishandled,' you can absolutely believe in your heart of hearts: I don't care.

And oh, by the way, I've noticed that sometimes it's spelled 'Koran' and other times 'Quran.' Well, Jimmy Crack Corn and-you guessed it-I don't care!!

If you agree with this viewpoint, pass this on to all your E-mail friends. Sooner or later, it'll get to the people responsible for this ridiculous behavior!

If you don't agree, then by all means hit the delete button. Should you choose the latter, then please don't complain when more atrocities committed by radical Muslims happen here in our great Country! And may I add:

'Some people spend an entire lifetime wondering if they made a difference in the world. But, the Marines don't have that problem' -- Ronald Reagan

I have another quote that I would like to add AND.......I hope you forward all this.

'If we ever forget that we're One Nation Under God, then we will be a nation gone under' Also by.. Ronald Reagan

One last thought for the day:

In case we find ourselves starting to believe all the Anti-American sentiment and negativity, we should remember England 's Prime Minister Tony Blair's words during a recent interview. When asked by one of his Parliament members why he believes so much in America , he said: 'A simple way to take measure of a country is to look at how many want in.. And how many want out.'

ask yourself how many boats are leaving our shores for another place to live.I have a $100.00 for every boat with 4 or more people and you  in it leaving this great country.

Only two defining forces have ever offered to die for you:
1. Jesus Christ
2. The American G. I.

One died for your soul, the other for your freedom.

YOU MIGHT WANT TO PASS THIS ON,
AS MANY SEEM TO FORGET BOTH OF THEM.

Another letter sent by one of our members.

Dear Senator,

Social Security began in 1935. It is mandatory, we can't opt out. (payroll tax collections will begin to exceed benefits paid in 2016 and it will go bankrupt by 2040 or sooner)

Medicare starts in 1965. Our seniors are now dependant on it. AARP gladly fills in the gaps with their insurance plan (No conflict of interest there? Anyone wonder why they are so tickled to support a bill that will cut Medicare Advantage benefits by $500 BILLION?)
Americans were promised Medicare would cost 12 billion by 1990 - it was 90 billion. It is now $468 billion.

Now we are handed a 1.2 trillion dollar (we all know it will be more) Health-care bill that unconstitutionally forces us to buy insurance or face fines and jail-time. Yet, Insurance companies are still not allowed to compete across state lines, and there is NO tort-reform. It appears to me that you don't really want insurance companies to compete and bring costs down or even to survive. It appears to me that the Progressive liberals in this nation want them to fail so we can have a single-payer system in this country. I get it. But this is not what we want.

This is not what Americans want, even if it is what YOU want. You are there to represent us. Remember?

I am asking that you would give us a bill that allows "across state lines" competition, tort reform, lower premiums, and guarantee affordable insurance even with pre-existing conditions.

Please do not allow another 111 federal agencies to be formed because of a government, public option.
Please do NOT force us to buy health insurance or be fined or jailed.
Please do not hand us another big-government-run, money-sucking, personally invasive, inefficient department in the name of helping those who need insurance.
Please let the President find his "legacy" some other way, besides giving us a bill that most college graduates cannot understand, and few representatives can even read.

Thankyou, Debbie K.

This is a letter sent by one of our members to all the dems up for re-election plus Snowe and Collins.

I do not believe you arrived in Washington for the considerable salary and benefits you now earn; rather, I believe you arrived because you believed you could do good for those you represent and for the United States.  However, Washington certainly must be a seductive place!  You know that.

The "Health Care" bill upon which you will vote is demonstrably bad.  It is clearly an attempt by certain members of the federal government to gain control over the medical decisions of everyone in the United States.  You know that.

This bill has been negotiated and drafted in secret and not in the clear light of day.  One party has done this with little/no consultation even with their own colleagues.  Most citizens know this and are resentful of the arrogance of our elected representatives that these actions clearly demonstrate.  You know that.

We citizens of the United States were promised that we could read the bills before they came up for a vote and that has been denied us and, I imagine, most of you as well.  This is not a responsible way to conduct the significant affairs of the United States.  You know that.

While a few want to hand over their medical decisions to Uncle Sam, and others want someone else to pay for them, a clear majority of the citizenry are opposed in one way or another to this deplorable attempt to dictate their medical care.  You know that.

In the coming weeks those who are driving this process will offer "sweeteners" to those who have yet to make a decision.  You know that.  Will you be one of those who will try to get a "sweetener" to take home so you can be re-elected?  If you are, please remember this: the rest of the country will pay for whatever you get for your constituency.  You know that.

The bill that will be voted on isn't 90% good and10% bad… not 80/20 nor even 60/40, though it very well may be 40/60 in the opposite direction.  You know that.

If you are worried about being re-elected, consider this:  With only perhaps three state exceptions, you will be punishing the majority of your constituents by reducing their options, increasing their taxes, and expediting their rationed care.  Should they not pay for medical insurance, they will be fined and jailed.  Is this what you really want?  Is this type of deceit what your party is demanding of you?

There are but a few who need not worry about their re-election.  You can vote for this abomination and worry about being re-elected.  Or you can stand up and speak.  You can stand up and say:  "We need health care reform, but this is not it!  We must do this in the open, in the light of day!  We must return to what we came to Washington to do: stand up for all the people, start over and do what we need to with help from all!"

Which course has a better chance of getting you re-elected and continuing the $175,000 plus benefits?  You know the answer.

This is a letter that my Daughter Linda sent it to Obama last night.
I thought you may like to see it.

President Barack Obama
 The White House
1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW
Washington, DC 20500
Dear President Obama,
I am a 26 year old Master's graduate from Fielding Graduate Institute with a Bachelor's degree in Communication and Minor in Psychology who had high hopes about attaining a life changing goal. However, since your inauguration, I have been laid off my job as a Client Service Specialist/Underwriter for a Financial Consulting firm and forced to move back into my mother's home and work 16+ hours a day between two jobs that I am over qualified for. I should not have bags and dark circles under my eyes at the young age of 26. Under the Bush administration, I always had a job and was never forced to seek positions that were under my standards and qualifications. I spent two years of schooling to attain a Masters degree and now ending up working two jobs that I could have done as a high school graduate.
Being a Father as you are, I know you have high hopes for your daughters as my Mother had but yet your children are getting the best treatment at such a young age- something my Mother wasn't able to do to it's highest degree. How do you feel that will affect their future? I hope you remain humble and teach them the facts of life and not spoil them and give them thoughts of a "perfect" life as no teenager or college student or even graduate student can grasp. Flying them all over the world is a wonderful experience but yet at the American working class costs. I'd love to explore the world but even with a higher education, I have to work 16-18 hour days to make ends meet. But you go ahead and take them shopping in Paris! If you continue to give them these elaborate excursions, they will only expect more. Please stop taking this presidency as a celebrity role and involving your children into believing this is a high for fame. This country is under extreme pressure and distress and the last thing is to hear that you or the First Lady is prancing around Paris shopping.
Regarding your past, why haven't the documents of your legal birth come to the surface? Why are you in such great personal contact with countries that we are in battle with? Why are you in such a hurry to sign a treaty that would give the world equal freedom? I agree with freedom as my Mother escaped Romania in the 70's from Communism and came to this country for a better life. However, since you've come into office, all I've seen is fear in her eyes that she would endear the same effects again that she dealt with 40 years ago. I am currently writing a book on her life called "In My Daughter's Eyes" that explains all that she went through to get to where she is today. Please don't take that away from her. That would be the next chapter or even book if things go the way you want.
Your so called "change" has definitely made an impact on this society from rich to poor. You wanted change, well you have it. I hope you can sleep at night knowing that among your celebrity appearances, Americans are struggling to survive thanks to many of your legislations and inhumane calls to our society. We used to be a democratic legislature and now it is turning into Socialism thanks to your efforts.
Freedom of speech is something that I never took for granted and yet I deserve the right for you to hear my voice. No, I am not a senator, a congress woman, a governor etc. However, EVERY voice should be heard. I'm tired of fearing for my future and my potential family and my current family under your litigation. I wish the best of luck to you as we as Americans come together. I'm currently involved with a nationwide reform to truly make the best "change" not the Obama "change." This is not meant to be a threatening letter by any means. It's just an awareness that even the "youngsters" are paying a significant attention to your actions.
Best regards,
Linda M. Cooper, M.A.

Letter to to RNC

This is the letter Bill G. sent to the RNC in response to a request for money :

As I write this the Republican Party still endorses D.D. Schizofreenia in District 23 of New York. I will send no money to such a party. Stop tracing your origins from Lincoln and go back to the values of Jefferson. We need someone to stand for the constitution and not some" living breathing" pile of dung shaped by whatever minds make their living playing with dung. The federal government cannot be the final arbiter of it's own power. Currently not the constitution, but the discretion of a few lawyers appointed as " Supreme Judges" is the only limit on federal power. There must be a return of sovereignty to the states and a strict reading of the constitution. Stand for a return to LIBERTY and I will support you.

Letter writing update

We had a small but great meet up for our letter writing group last Friday. We discussed this blog and how it can be used to get more of us involved. This is a summary of what was discussed.
1. Pink Slips - Notices of Termination to members of Congress. You can click on the link to moveoutcongress.com under Quick Access to get to this pdf file.

2. Michele Bachmann - Check out her website listed under Quick Access. If you would like to support her you might want to send a small donation.

3. Health care - According to Mark Levin the first step to reconciliation has been taken. Write, fax, call your Senators!

4. Marco Rubio - His campaign is heating up! Keep the pressure on the members of the Republican Party who have endorsed Charlie Crist without taking time to explore what is best for Florida and the country.

5. ACORN - Funding may be restored in November! Don't let up!

6. Attacks on Rush Limbaugh's inclusion in a bid for the St. Louis Rams - We talked about a protest. I will have more on this in the next few days. In the meantime we can all show our disgust for this malicious spreading of lies by letting the NFL know how we feel. I personally will be boycotting the televised games, something that would have a big impact if all of Rush's supporters decided to do the same. If Keith Ohlberman can commentate nationally televised games Rush should be able to own an interest in a team!

7. Sample letters - We will begin posting sample letters and other items on the meetup site that will make it easier and faster to address issues. There are links under Quick Access at this blog that will help get your letters to the right people.

I will be sending an email blast to all members of the SWFL912 Project to let them know about Operation Coffee Cup and the blog.

Don't forget to involve your neighbors, co-workers, etc. Letters to the Editor, emails, faxes, hand written notes, phone calls, can be a part of everyone's routine even if it's just a few minutes a week.

Hot Topics

There are so many issues that we really have to focus and keep taking them in stride. Still at the top of the list:

Health Care reform
Cap and Tax
Card Check
Elections 2010

This is the time to pump it up a notch. Use the Quick Access links for info. Share with us what you have been doing and any unique ideas you have that will attract more attention. The more they try to portray us as insignificant the more we know we are making a difference!

This can work!

We can make this work! This can be a great way to share ideas and info, for letter writing and general communication. Let me know what you think and I will try to keep this moving. I need your help!

Links

I have begun to post links on the right hand side of the blog.

Operation Coffee Cup

We will be having our third meeting and in doing the research I realized how important it is to keep current on a daily basis. So much is going on that we need to act when the issues are hot! I'll figure this out as I go but for those of you more savvy than I, please feel free to jump in with comments, suggestions, and helpful criticisms.
